RELATING TO REBATES OFFERED TO LONG HAULS TRIPS
TRANSITING THE SUEZ CANAL

We are very pleased to enlighten Principals who are interested to be benefited of rebates offered to LONG HAULS trips transiting the Suez Canal and in order to facilitate matters to them we specify hereunder the procedure to be followed to obtain discount in the transit dues.

They have to comply with the S.C.A. requirements which have to be submitted to them :

1- Rebate request form as per attached copy to be faxed to S.C.A. duly completed , covering all trip and vessel details together with any information that may be deemed necessary by the client. S.C.A. shall study the case and notify the client of the proposed rebate as soon as possible .

2- The client will notify SCA of his acceptance or his final counter proposal by fax .

3- SCA. will restudy the case for the last time and either maintain its previous rebate , or submit rock bottom rebate which will not be subject to any further negotiations.

4- The applicant will fax his decision to SCA together with ETA.

The following documentations are also required in addition to the Rebate Request Form :

A) Original certificate duly signed and stamped by the Port Authority of the loading Port.

B) Original certificate duly signed and stamped by the Port Authority of the Port of discharge .

C) Master's declaration stating that the vessel in laden condition with name of the loading Port and discharging Port and that the vessel proceeding direct without stopping in between for any Cargo Operation .

D) Owners declaration similar to above document No C.

E) Copies of B/LS AND CARGO MANIFESTS .

F) The SCA. hopes that all its clients will follow the above mentioned procedures .

P.S. Principals are kindly invited to note the following respective regulations in order to avoid any problems during the procedure
A. As the gross Suez Canal tolls are paid to the Suez Canal Authority prior vessel's transit principals are kindly requested to remit the full amount of canal dues in advance .
B. The full set of documents required by the S.C.Authority must be complete before any refund to be done by S.C.A.
C. The refund will be effected to principals through the Shipping Agents after the agreement and approval of the S.C.A. upon the documents submitted ..

Circular to Shipowners/Charterers/Operators
S.C.A. Circular No. 1/99

Dear Sirs,

We are pleased to append hereunder text of S.C.A. Circular No. 1/99 issued by S.C.A. dated 6/6/99 relating to additional reductions granted to LNG'S contents of which are self-explanatory :

"Article One :

Transit dues rate of Natural Gas Carriers shall remain in force as per the table of dues attached to Circular No. 6/98 applied as of 1/1/99 . Meanwhile , the rebate of 35% of transit dues granted to this category of ships shall also remain unchanged , as stated in item 2 of the Explanatory Note attached to Circular No. 3/97 .

Article Two :

First : In addition to the reduction granted to LNG's in article one , further rebates , to liquefied Natural Gas quantities transported through the Suez Canal , shall be given as shown hereunder :

a. 5% on the Suez Canal Transit dues for the round trip of the same carrier , if gas quantities transported through the Suez Canal by one individual client during one year starting from the date of contracting with SCA , exceed half a million tons and up to one million .

b. 10% on the Suez Canal Transit dues for the round trip of the same carrier if gas quantities , transported by one individual client during one year starting from the date of contracting with the SCA , exceed one million tons and up to 2 millions tons.

c. 15% on the Suez Canal Transit dues , for the round trip of the same carrier if gas

quantities , transported by one individual client during one year starting from the date of contracting with SCA , exceed 2 millions tons.

Second : Reductions stated in article Two Item First (a,b,c) shall be settled upon the return trip once the bill of lading and the cargo manifest have duly been submitted ."
Third : Any client who wishes to benefit from the said reductions , Article Two , Item First (a,b,c) , shall submit a request stating all necessary information as per the attached form , adequately in advance of transit . A special file on the client's carriers shall be initiated to follow up their trips and calculate their relevant gas quantities that have already been transported.
This circular takes effect as of the date of issue ."

of transit date.

In the meantime , we expect you to send us our VIF No.for future use.
